What Is Xeomin®?

Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA) is an FDA-approved neurotoxin used to temporarily improve the appearance of certain facial lines caused by repeated muscle movement.

Treatment works by temporarily reducing activity in specifically targeted muscles. As the underlying muscle activity decreases, the overlying expression lines can appear softer while untreated areas continue to move naturally.

At DermLux, Xeomin is not administered according to a predetermined pattern. Your provider evaluates your facial anatomy, muscle strength, movement, symmetry, and treatment goals to develop an individualized treatment plan.

Where Can Xeomin® Be Used?

Neurotoxin treatment can be used in several areas depending on your anatomy, muscle activity, treatment goals, and clinical assessment.

Common areas may include:

Frown Lines — lines that develop between the eyebrows with expression
Forehead Lines — horizontal lines associated with raising the eyebrows
Crow's Feet — expression lines around the outer eyes

Additional treatment areas may be considered when clinically appropriate following provider assessment.

What Should I Expect During My Xeomin® Treatment?

Your appointment begins with an assessment of your facial anatomy and muscle movement. Your provider may ask you to make different facial expressions to evaluate how specific muscles contribute to the lines or concerns you would like to address.

Once your treatment plan is established, Xeomin is administered through a series of small, precisely placed injections. Treatment itself is typically brief, although appointment time varies depending on the areas being evaluated and treated.

Your provider will review post-treatment instructions with you before you leave.

When Will I See My Xeomin® Results?

Xeomin does not produce its full effect immediately. Changes develop gradually following treatment, with results continuing to evolve as the targeted muscles respond.

Individual response and duration vary based on factors such as treatment area, muscle strength, dose, metabolism, and previous neurotoxin treatment.

How Long Does Xeomin® Last?

Results are temporary and vary between patients. As muscle activity gradually returns, expression lines may begin to become more noticeable again.

Will Xeomin make my face look frozen?

Is there downtime after Xeomin?
Most patients can return to many normal daily activities following treatment. Temporary redness, tenderness, swelling, or bruising can occur at injection sites. Your provider will give you specific post-treatment instructions.

Is Xeomin the same as Botox®?
Xeomin and Botox are both botulinum toxin type A neurotoxins, but they are different FDA-approved products with different formulations. They are not considered interchangeable unit-for-unit. Your provider can discuss which treatment options are appropriate for you.

How often will I need treatment?
Xeomin® treatments are commonly maintained every 3–4 months, although individual results and treatment frequency may vary based on muscle activity, treatment area, dose, metabolism, and your response to treatment.
