DermLux Medical Weight Management

Supporting Your Health Beyond Aesthetics

Sustainable weight management is about more than a number on the scale.

At DermLux Aesthetics & Wellness, our medical weight management program takes a personalized approach to your health, combining medical evaluation, individualized treatment planning, nutrition and lifestyle support, and ongoing clinical follow-up.

Launching October 2026. We’re thoughtfully preparing our program to provide personalized, provider-led care with the education and clinical support your health journey deserves.

A Personalized Approach to Weight Management

Weight is influenced by many factors, including nutrition, activity, sleep, lifestyle, medications, medical history, and metabolic health.

That's why our program begins with understanding you—not simply prescribing a medication.

Your provider will review your health history, previous weight-management efforts, current medications, lifestyle, and goals before developing an individualized plan. When medically appropriate, prescription medication may be incorporated as one component of your overall treatment strategy.

Medication may be part of the plan. Personalized care is the foundation.

What Your Weight Management Plan May Include

Your treatment plan is individualized according to your medical history, health needs, and goals.

Comprehensive Medical Evaluation

Your journey begins with a medical assessment to review your health history, current medications, previous weight-management efforts, and factors that may influence treatment.

Individualized Treatment Planning

Your provider develops a personalized plan based on your starting point, goals, clinical assessment, and response to treatment.

Nutrition & Lifestyle Support

We focus on practical strategies that support adequate nutrition, protein intake, hydration, physical activity, and healthy habits throughout your weight-management journey.

Medication Management When Appropriate

Prescription weight-management medication may be considered when clinically appropriate. Medication selection, dosing, potential risks, benefits, and alternatives are reviewed individually with your provider.

Ongoing Clinical Follow-Up

Weight management is an ongoing process. Follow-up visits allow us to evaluate your progress, tolerance, nutrition, response to treatment, and whether adjustments to your plan are appropriate.

Progress Beyond the Scale

Weight is only one part of your health journey.

Throughout your program, we look beyond the number on the scale and focus on building habits that support your overall health and long-term progress.

Depending on your individual needs and goals, we may discuss:

Nutrition and adequate protein intake · Hydration · Physical activity and muscle preservation · Lifestyle habits · Treatment tolerance · Changes in weight and body composition · Relevant health markers and laboratory monitoring when indicated

Our goal isn't simply weight loss. It's helping you approach weight management with greater understanding, appropriate medical oversight, and a plan designed for long-term success.

Is Medical Weight Management Right for Me?

Medical weight management may be appropriate for adults who have struggled to achieve or maintain meaningful weight loss through lifestyle changes alone or who may benefit from additional medical support.

Eligibility for treatment—and whether prescription medication is appropriate—is determined through an individualized medical evaluation and Good Faith examination by our providers.

Not every patient will be a candidate for medication, and receiving a consultation does not guarantee that medication will be prescribed.

What to Expect From Your Weight Management Journey

Start With Understanding

Your journey begins with a comprehensive consultation and medical evaluation. We'll discuss your health history, previous weight-management experiences, lifestyle, current medications, and goals.

Build Your Plan

Based on your evaluation, your provider will develop an individualized treatment plan. This may include nutrition and lifestyle recommendations, clinical monitoring, and prescription medication when medically appropriate.

Follow Your Progress

Regular follow-up allows us to evaluate your progress, treatment tolerance, nutrition, activity, and overall response.

Adjust Along the Way

Weight management is rarely a perfectly linear process. Your plan may evolve over time based on your progress, goals, clinical needs, and response to treatment.

This isn't a quick fix. It's an ongoing partnership in your health.

Medical Weight Management & GLP-1 Therapy

For appropriate patients, prescription medication may be considered as part of a comprehensive medical weight management plan.

GLP-1–based therapies may help support weight management by influencing appetite, satiety, and food intake. These medications are not appropriate for everyone and require individualized evaluation, education, and ongoing clinical monitoring.

When prescribed, it is incorporated into a broader plan focused on nutrition, healthy habits, appropriate activity, and sustainable progress. Your provider will discuss available treatment options, expected benefits, potential risks and side effects, alternatives, and appropriate monitoring before initiating prescription therapy.

Medical Weight Management FAQs

Do I have to take medication to participate?

Not necessarily. Your treatment plan is based on your individual medical evaluation, needs, and goals. Prescription medication may be considered when clinically appropriate but is not automatically recommended for every patient.

Does DermLux offer GLP-1 weight management?

GLP-1–based medication may be considered for appropriate patients as part of an individualized medical weight management plan. Eligibility and medication selection are determined following a medical evaluation.

How quickly should I expect to lose weight?

Weight-loss response varies significantly from person to person. Your starting point, treatment plan, nutrition, activity, medical history, medication response, and other factors can all influence your progress.

Rather than promising a specific amount of weight loss within a certain timeframe, we focus on clinically appropriate, sustainable progress.

Will I need laboratory testing?

Laboratory testing may be recommended based on your medical history, current health status, medications, and treatment plan. Your provider will discuss any appropriate baseline or follow-up monitoring with you.

How often will I see my provider?

Follow-up frequency is individualized based on your treatment plan, medication use when applicable, clinical response, and monitoring needs. Regular follow-up is an important part of evaluating progress, tolerance, nutrition, and whether adjustments are appropriate.

What happens when I reach my goal weight?

Reaching your goal doesn't necessarily mean your health journey ends. Your provider will work with you to develop an individualized maintenance strategy focused on preserving progress, supporting healthy nutrition and activity habits, and determining the appropriate next steps for your treatment plan.
